Purus 2014 Chardonnay
Purus is a pure translation of our local clone into wine. The vines have been carefully managed to allow only dappled light into the fruiting zone, which promotes flavour development, low tannins and bright levels of natural acidity. The sustainably farmed vineyard is in the cool southern end of Margaret River. The tiny 100g Gin Gin clusters are hand harvested at first light to preserve freshness of fruit.
An ideal wine to enjoy beside the “Artus Chardonnay” in order to celebrate differences in winemaking styles.
Vibrant perfumes and aromas of lime, orange blossom and honey suckle. The palate is richly fruited and reveals a balance of expansive fruit, texture and sophisticated elegance. Flavours of nashi pear, stone fruit and dried figs mingle with notes of hazelnut and creamy vanilla bean. The wine stays true to its purity with a beautifully focused mineral structure.
