Bruce Dukes, Winemaker of the Year

Bruce Dukes, Winemaker of the Year

We are delighted to share that Ray Jordan in his WA Wine Review 2026, has announced Bruce as Winemaker of the Year.

Ray has coined Bruce as 'The Soil Whisperer', aptly summing up Bruce's style... "If there’s a single thread running through all of Dukes’ wines, it’s balance. He doesn’t chase extremes or fashion. Instead, he lets the site and season speak. Oak is used with restraint, fermentation is often wild, and the hand of the winemaker is present but gentle. “I’m not trying to create a brand of myself,” he says. “I’m trying to give cultural meaning to wine styles that make sense here (Margaret River).”

Bruce is honoured to receive this award, pointing out that "the wines are collaboratively made with Senior Winemaker Remi Guise and Viticulturist, Tim Byrne. We seem to have a synergy between us".
