FLORIS CHARDONNAY

Floris is a modern and engaging expression of our local clone into wine. This style is a coevolution of Modern Australian food and wine culture, which has great emphasis on balance, freshness and hedonistic pleasure. Floris exhibits delicate textures and floral notes reminiscent of white jasmine flowers.

92pts Dr Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot "This Macon-styled Chardonnay is a picture of elegance and refinement with it's gentle layers of citrus, nougat and florals with a well placed whisper of oak. Freshness is the key with a linear, modern citrus and floral accented palate, lifted by a nice touch of grip to finish."

2021

96 pts James Halliday “This has the same back label fruit description of white grapefruit and nectarine as it's Artus Chardonnay sibling, but that is where the similarity ends. This is all about purity and finesse, the fruit flavours strung on a necklace of diamonds, oak incidental."

95pts Melissa Moore, Wine Pilot "...saline sea spray over notes of grapefruit zest, just-picked nectarine and lightly toasted hazelnut oak. The palate is alive with energy and the gorgeous purity of its savoury fruit versus balanced acidity with the lightest tannin grip; a tightrope of taut minerality and savoury oak framing the underlining zing. Drink now to 2030.”

2020

93 James Suckling “This has impressive peach aromas, in a rich and ripe style that really flexes the power and character of Margaret River chardonnay. There's a rich and fleshy feel here with intense citrus, peach and grapefruit. Open-knit finish with gentle oak toast. Drink now.”

2019

96 Huon Hooke “Very light, bright yellow colour. A reserved bouquet of subtle smoky, nutty and toasty nuances; gentle sulfides. The palate is round and soft, rich and fleshy, with tremendous depth and density. The acidity is energising and the palate superbly penetrative and lingering. A top Chardonnay – 2020-2031.”

95 Halliday - Erin Larkin "Glassy texture and very fine phenolic structure places this in top- shelf company. Unbelievable value for money.” 94 Gary Walsh  “Such a good thing to drink. Hooray!”

2018

96 James Halliday “complexity and texture …. a carefully built wine.”

2017

96 Halliday  “Absolutely nails all that is good about Margaret River chardonnay. Bright grapefruit and white peach fruit glide along a plate with great mouthfeel for its fruit, acidity and touches of grilled cashew nuts. Nothing wasted here, nothing included without need.”
