2021 Discovery Cabernet Sauvignon
Red berry perfumes | fleshy tannins
Red berry perfumes | fleshy tannins
A classic and unhindered expression of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, sculpted tannins and lifted red berry perfumes. A paragon of personality, purpose and approachability for those who enjoy soft tannins, succulent red fruits and simply love wine. Aromas of cassis, red cherries and bright red fruit underpinned by a seamless palate of raspberries, plum skin, bright red fruits and silky, textured tannin on the finish.
91pts Mel Moore "..has an abundance of fresh fruit aromas; blackcurrants, blueberries and cranberries, with a crunch of leaf and vanilla oak. This wine has a lovely palate weight - again, textural and elegant - with balance between fruit power and acidity, ending in a chalky tannin grip. Great value drinking from Bruce Dukes."

A dry and sun-drenched summer in 2020 led to fantastic fertility, perfectly moderated by a mild winter and a long cool spring. A hot and dry start to summer 2021 led to beautiful vine growth, followed by a cool ripening season with sporadic summer rains. The resultant wines are characterized by intense aromatics, coating natural acidity, and ultra-fine tannin and tension.
Cabernet Sauvignon 95%, Malbec 4%, Merlot 1%
The parcels of fruit were fermented and matured separately in French oak for a year. They were blended just before bottling based on a precise tasting profile.
Seasoned French oak barriques for 12 months. Mainly from the Allier and Center of France forests.
Up to 5 years, but delicious now.
